Default Is it necessary to be ECFMG certificatied?

Hi all,
Is it necessary to be ECFMG certified by the time of applying,in order to be able to participate in ERAS.
Can anyone who passed USMLE step 2 CK and step 2 CS and has not taken step 1 yet participate in residency match?

it is not necessary...especially for AMGs...but you will lose MANY interviews because of that reason...you will just have to know that you have less chances...
