Default MSPE

I am an old graduate. How important is MSPE for me? Like shall I ask my college to give it to me now? Or I can apply without it?

Some programs will specifically ask for it as a requirement. So yes, it would be better to ask it. What do you have to lose? It will increase the number of programs to where you apply and will also increase your chances.

By the way. The MSPE has nothing to do with how long ago you graduated. Your school should have your records from when you were a student and should be able to provide you with an MSPE.

Thank you for replying. My college is located at lil bit distant location and it takes a long time for communication. So I was thinking whether to invest time and efforts for that. But I would surely try to get it.

Starting with the procedure for mspe. I am 5 years from graduation now. It is written in ' Guide for MSPE' that it is usually completed at the end of 3rd or 4 th year. So will it be ok if I ask for MSPE now with the current date and year( 2014) on it?

If you don't provide an mspe then the ecfmg will provide one on your behalf and this would be neutral

After going through all this, I think we should provide mspe and should not leave our application incomplete.

Almost every hospital is asking for it.

Does anyone have an idea how long it actually takes for the MSPE to be processed once it's uploaded to OASIS. I know they say 1-2 weeks but how long does it actually take? Thanks

1-2 weeks...

But keep in mind that it could be more, due to a delay caused by your school to upload it. I know of a friend that has been waiting for over 3 weeks for just its school to make a MSPE.

They say 1- 2 weeks as a maximum time but in reality it will not take more than 3 business days

Not really. There are people here that have been waiting for their LOR to be confirmed for over a week. Havent heard anyone over 2 weeks though. I guess it depends, and the closer to September 15th, the more it will take because there are more people uploading.
