Hospital 2 LORs from same rotation?

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum. But better to join late than never..!
I have the option of getting 2 LORs from the same clerkship rotation I had done. It's a specialty rotation from a hospital affiliated with a top medical school in the US. Fortunately, I had received a great evaluation as well. My question is should I go for 2 letters from 2 attendings who evaluated me during that 1 month rotation, or get just one and substitute the other with a home country medical school LOR.

Thanks and good luck to all...

It's better to use LoR from different hospitals.

You need to get at least 3 LoRs for ERAS, it's better if you get another 2 LoRs from 2 different hospitals (even if it was from your home country) to supplement one LoR from your rotation in that top medical school affiliated hospital.

Hi,
I kind of am in the same situation. I worked in Harvard and got 2 lor 's for a month's clerkship from 2 different attendings. I also have 2 other US Lor's but both of them are private practice based. So which Lor's should i use. I also have My HOD of medicine 's LOR. so should i go with 4 US or 3 US plus 1 Indian LOR.

Harvard and other university/training institutions LORs are stronger than private practice, you may use 2 from them if you want. You can also make a random selection for random programs ;-)

So even if they are from the same rotation and the information they provide about me is restricted to that one month, it is better if get 2 LORs from say harvard than a home LOR which would be more extensive? I have 2 US LORs, 2 home.. Based on your opinions i would like to decide if it should be 3 + 1... Thank you for your opinions. It is greatly appreciated

You can send to ERAS as much LORs as you want. If you want o send the same combination of LORs to all programs when you apply, then 2 Harvard and 2 home LORs is the best combination, however 2 harvard 1 private and 1 home LORs is also good and maybe better.

Thanks for helping members,
What about waiving rights to see lors...after they reach ERAS & uploaded, can we see the waived lors? or even after they would be uploaded we can not see them & just assign them to programs?

Thanks

you can't see them (actualy you will not see any of LORs in eras), you will only have the ability to assign them.
