Default How legal is this? US citizens in govt colleges?

Are foreign nationals allowed to study in government medical colleges in India?
If not, then how come there are so many US citizens studying in government funded colleges in the country?

Please correct me if I am wrong. I was just curious since I've come across many USMLE aspirants who are US passport holders and have graduated from government colleges.

Wow really?
I definitely don't think you can buy your way into a government college, even in India.
Maybe they did well in the entrance exams?

Point here being that only Indian citizens are allowed to appear for any entrance exam across India.

Yeah it's not legal. Technically we aren't even allowed to take our 12th Grade Board examinations or any State/National exams. No one really follows up on these things so it's easy to get away with.
