Listening Taking Step 2 in September too late for Match this year???

Can someone please guide me in this matter.
I just recently started CK prep and am assuming I can somehow get this done by September. Some say I don't need that much time but I am very unsure at the time being of being able to finish CK in one or two months?!?
Anyway...say that I am ready to go to CK by September and take the test...does this mean it is too late to consider Match, being certified, ect...???? I really need some good advice to plan ahead for whatever.
Thank so much

Probably you are late.

Just think about this:
You are taking the exam in September, you will get the score one month after that. So you will have your ECFMG certificate by mid October at least. Besides that the ECFMG certification takes some time. In the ERAS application you have to fill an space which ask about your ECFMG certification status, you have to fill that space as no ECFMG certified.

That would make your application to a program less competitive in this case. However, if you can see the positive side of this issue, when you get your ECFMG certification you would have a great opportunity to contact each program and remind them that you are ECFMG certified at that moment. That would demonstrate genuine interest in their program and probably reconsider your application. =) I am not sure about this, but it makes sense, right?

Yes I realize that I may be too late for the match. An application without ECFMG certification is not appealing to any program. I will be very saddened by the fact though, that I lost yet another year

Yeah I know the feeling, think in the positive side, you can prepare a lot better for your examinations. Also if you find any observership or research opportunity which can help you to make a better CV for the application, that would be better.

hey, I'm probably going to give my step 1 in another week/10 days. am in img and am in a similar situation, I'm going to try and push for my step 2 ck by September mid, though I've graduated this year itself it still sucks to have to wait another year, especially with usce and all...but after reading a fair few posts around forums as well as the excellent link sabio has provided here, I'm planning on applying anyway. simply because its a 50-50 either way, though theres a lot left to luck. Its worth a shot. especially if you've got a good score (which I havent as yet). Worse to worse, if I dont match this year, I have another year to get some more USCE, work on my application, give my exams, all round generally relax and prepare for an extra interview question "So why didn't you match last year?". At least my documents - LORs, MSPE, USCE etc won't need another uploading...(or so I think, correct me if I'm wrong). If you already have a step 1 score, I'd seriously say that think about it...don't give up before it begins!
