Default How many programs are you applying to?

this is a question for IMGs. how many programs is everyone applying to this season? i want to see the average here.
I am applying both to IM and FM but i heard that FM prgrams don't really take a lot of IMGs so i should rather cut down on the number of FM programs and apply to more of IM programs. I am applying close to 73 FM and 107 IM right now.

Wait what? where did you hear that from. And why family medicine out of the rest?? even if its true... I'm applying to FM and IM... but planning to rank the FM programs higher on the list than IM programs since I prefer FM.

I'm pretty much applying to all FM places where they accept/sponsor visas since I'm a Canadian.

I have just heard it, it's not an established fact. Since quite a few fm programs ask for a considerable usce and ask for LoR from family physicians so people say it's not very very IMG friendly.

Applying only to IM, and at 174 programs currently. Attempting to cut it down to 160.

192 programs, about 130 IM, rest FM

Just have a look at the nrmp data and u will see it's harder for imgs in fm, especially those who have been out of med school for more then two years
