Default personal statement query

hey guys,
as a fmg with us experience years ago.. i learnt when soliciting lors that my supervisor i most closely worked with has a severe illness and is out of clinical practice and can no longer write me one.

in addressing red flags for ps as in why i could only obtain 1 lor..
whether it would be medically unethical to mention that my supervisor got ill and whether i can mention him.
any ideas????

since usmle emphasizes so much on privacy of medical information...

Thanks!

I think in your PS you're supposed to explain any gap in your cv and not how and why did you obtained only 1 LoR. you may mention about your that US experience that you learnt a lot and your positive qualities as a physician emerged etc but you don't explain about LoRs in PS. that's what i think. in your work experience in your aplication on ERAS, you may however write about that US experience in detail what and how you did it and MAY BE mention that your supervisor is not currently in clinical practice.
