Default strong letters from observership

Could I get strong letters from observership ?despite being not allowed to touch patients ?

Not really. If you do not touch patients, you can not be judge on your clinical skills. The only thing that your supervisor can write about you is that you are polite, appropriatly dressed, always on time… It would be not a strong lor.
Try to get a clinical research position or a clinical rotation if you still are a student.

I don't completely agree. True that LoRs from electives carry more importance but you can get strong letters from observerships. Though you cannot interact with the patients you can with the attending, and you can impress him with your academic knowledge.

Medical knowledge is broadly tested on usmle exams. LoRs have a different meaning and goal.
