Program Directors Interview prep?

Wanted to start a thread to discuss interview prep. A few questions regarding interviews -

-How are you guys preparing for interviews?
-Any special resources or prep courses? If so, what's the best out there?

-How long does an average interview last?
-Do you prefer going in the night before or the day of the interview?

-What questions are the best questions to ASK THEM at the end of the interview?
-What times are the best to schedule your interview? Early in the day or later? Early in the month or later?

etc etc. I hope we can all combine our answers and ask more questions on this topic to be on the same page! I know it's nerve wrecking going into an interview (at least for me) so this might help

Default Re: Interview prep?

My wife is an IMG (Cali, Colombia). She is a third-year resident at a community hospital in New York. We developed a service, IMGAngel, that works with applicants on their interviewing skills.

The typical engagement consists of three to four practice sessions via Skype or g-chat. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes. We will go through a series of questions, evaluate your responses, and then provide feedback on how to better respond and present yourself. Each successive session progressively focuses on improving your weak areas and giving you more confidence in your approach. The entire engagement costs $199. We have been providing this service for three years now and have had the pleasure of working with dozens of residents from IM, peds, FM, psych, and cardiology. We help you learn the art of balancing the personal and the professional. The residency interview is a job interview. The directors and residents want to choose people whom they can envision as colleagues.

Please feel free to private message me or call me (336.682.6702) if you would like to discuss further.

ps - Our website has a video discussing our approach and the reason we created the service (imgangel dot com).
