Probability 99 in Step1 and 78 in CK!

hey guys i am posting this on the behalf of my friend... he scored 99/230( step1),78/194( CK),90(step3), CS 1st attempt pass...... he is concerned about his chances of getting an IM match! he has 2 US LORs and he wants to do one year research in pathology or anesthesia. whats your say on his chances getting an IM residency or if not IM then Patho?
