Default Training Gap Importance?

Hello everyone! I'm an IMG from the Philippines who graduated from medical school last 2012 and from internship last 2013. I'm planning to finish all my steps until CS by May next year so that I can be eligible for the 2016 match.

During my training lag, I volunteered for medical missions during the Typhoon Haiyan disaster and also worked at clinics and non-training hospitals as a reliever physician.

I just wanted to ask anyone with similar experiences (training lag of >1 year) regarding my chances of matching. Assuming I get competitive grades for my MLE, is the training lag a huge factor? Will it severely affect my chances of being matched? I've been getting mixed advice about this from different people. I'd really appreciate it if someone shed some light on this. Thanks guys.

Because what you did its not a problem, work on steps 1,2 ck cs and get US experience you will not finish step 3 in Time and not wise to expect to.
