Default Is the US News ranking accurate?

So we all did our research when we applied to programs. With interviews coming, I started looking more into the hospitals. I find that some places look really strong on their websites and have great board passing rates and fellowship placements but are not that good according to US News ranking of best hospitals

Any ideas on why is that ? Is US News just a commercial biased tool ?

How good the hospital is doesn't necessarily translate to how good the residency program is. I've been at places which have been ranked as the worst hospitals (and for good reasons) which have really amazing IM residency programs sought after by AMGs.
