Default if you got offered a prematch would you take it?

A program that I have great connections to only does prematch. I am applying pretty late in the game, but managed to get invitations from two great university hospitals, while the prematch is at a community hospital in a bad location. What would you do, take the prematch or risk the match and only rank less than 4 places?

Since you are attractive enough to the two university-based programs, email more of the university programs that you have applied to. If you get more interviews, then you are an attractive applicant. So chances of matching are high.

Personally I would want to maximize my chances and not want to settle in a mediocre program.

somewhat related to the original post...

i was offered an interview from a program that offers prematch. due to scheduling difficulties, it is difficult for me to do interview until early december. now i am aware it is better to interview early for prematch programs.

do you believe my interview date is too late? is there a way i can find out how much of their positions are filled before going in for interview? (don't want to walk in there if knowing all spots are taken)

That is why I did not apply for any pre-match program, because I want to give my self a chance of going to a good program, I don't want just to match for the sake of matching and end up in a bad program in a bad area. But be careful, look at these university programs carefully, what is your chance in matching in these programs, I mean last year University of Iowa (for example) interviewed many of friends, but none ended up matching there and Iowa filled all its positions from AMGs, so look at things carefully. I was planning to cancel 2 of IVs (bad areas), but until now I got only 2 good IVs, otherwise small community programs, so I am not going to cancel anything. I am not even sure if all of the hospitals that provide H1b visa are exempt from the cap ...

Default 4 interviews

I have 5 interviews so far, and one program is a definite prematch prograrm, but I think a more malignant program, with less teaching/more on the job learning. How many interviews do you think is safe for a guaranteed match?

Same here. In the end my considerations fall to whether the program has high board passing rate. If it is high then it does have what it takes to train the resident. Probably just less convenient and more vigorous work. I am thinking to take it if offered.
