7 year usmle rule question
hi guys.. just needed some advice on this 7 year usmle rule.. i have seen online where it says a given time limit to complete usmle steps 1,2 and 3 for each individual state. some have it as within 7 years of passing the first step while others have it within 10 years of passing the first step.
my question is.. can we get the temporary license to enter residency for a given state even if that 7 year time limit has expired and then take care of that usmle step before we graduate from residency. is this rule for the permanent physician license you would apply for after residency is completed or is it required before entering even residency itself, or even to get accepted to a program we would need to comply with this rule.. any help would be appreciated.. thanks in advance..
