Ok. Thanks. I am searching for research positions frantically . I really need to know whether I want to pursue this or not. Coming from a fairly middle class family in india and even if my dad is willing to risk his savings on me for another year I don't want the guilt if I don't match next year because of my CS attempt.
I really need to be certain that people with CS attempt get interviews. Everyone says that they do but when I ask them whther they know anyone personally of such person who is not a citizen or GC holder they all are silent.

Its will be very painful for me to let go off usmle but I need to be practical.

You do not need to let go of USMLE.You can get into volunteer research positions if you are persistent in your search.Remember you have to HOLD ON TO HOPE,HAVE BELIEF IN YOURSELF..NOONE CAN PREDICT YOUR CHANCES...having a Cs attempt is not a crime You could always tell the person interviewing you that you learnt from your mistake. All it takes is just one interview...Focus on your strengths rather than weaknesses..Tell yourself you are going to get no matter what may come in the way..You have come this far ..There is just a thin line for you to realise your dream..Good luck

"don't let your failure go to your heart and success to your head"

You have good things in your profile.

Believe me I had a senior matched in a very bad program. But he had passed every exam on first attempt and had 264 in step 1 and 260 on CK. With 3 months of hands on clinical experience and he was a fresh grad.

Nothing is permanent!!! Time heals everything!!
if you have failure that doesn't mean you will not match or will go to a very worst program. And people in the world or this forum cannot predict(even 1%) weather you are going to match or not, because they are themselves humans and they don't know what life will bring to them in future.

Believe in yourself and work hard!! You are the master of your soul and you are the master of your fate!! And leave everything on GOD!!
I have full confidence that you are going to post a great match experience of yours in near future on this forum only. And I am waiting for that eagerly.
