Default Seton Hall IM interview

Anyone already went on an interview at this place and has any reviews about this place? The website has pretty minimal information about this program.

all i can say is that its minutes walk from train station to NY and they may offer prematch and they are pretty malignant. they make their residents resign for no reason and they still use paper work. Elizabeth is the city not best to live in.

But we don't care. all the challenges are just as good as getting any spot available.

Good luck and make the most out of it. My program and externship clinic is compared and equal to harlem in reviews and from what i see. you cannot even safely walk to train station and need to take taxi or drive to next station etc.. but these are things that do not matter for us. for me at least. my only problem is that kids cannot live in the area with me. but i know that I have to be alone during internship year. so maybe thats even better. I won't feel guilty that i live alone in 'Harlem"

1. Seton Hall University

Invitation Date: 09/21/2014
Interview Date: 10/22/2014
Location: Elizabeth, NJ
Stress level: 6/10
Number of interviewers: 2

Relevant questions asked:
First interview:

Why our Program?
Tell me about your self?
Tell me interesting case that you saw in Egypt during your medical school education?
How many interviews you got!!!

Second interview:

how do you deal with stress?
talked about my leadership abilities
Have you ever delivered bad news to patients or relatives? and how was it?

Medical questions asked: None.

Residents: Residents are happy and they were encouraging us to consider the program

In-house fellowships/Fellowship placement: They have only Cardiology fellowship. Fellow placement is average and it is possible to get Pulmonary, CC, ID and Nephrology. GI and Cardiology are very hard for the residents to get.

What you liked most: The City, Dictation system and the friendly environment

What could be improved: Not that much in fellowship placement and because it is a primary care track program

Interview rating: 8/10
Any other comments: Apply to it. great for primary care track and could consider it as a back up or an opportunity to practice for interviews.

Credentials: 250, 233, Pass, 5m USCE, 3 USLORs, YOG 2013
Home Country: Syria
