Everyone was extremely nice. The hotel they recommended was wonderful and a 2 minute drive to the hospital. 2 2nd year residents took us to a nice Mexican restaurant around the corner from the hotel. They were very friendly and really enthusiastic about the program. They had no real complaints.
The day of the interview we had a ppt overview from the PD. I'm originally from Wisconsin and had NO CLUE about Marshfield and the Marshfield clinic. The facilities are awesome and they take care of a large catchment area. It seems like they get a lot of good pathology due to the farming, immigrant and Amish/Mennonite communities. They're also incorporating more ultrasound in their curriculum.
We had 2 interviews, one with the PD and the other with an APD and a faculty member in the same room. The PD was extremely nice, and we had a wonderful interview that was more like a conversation. The interview with the APD and faculty member was a little more question/answer. It was weird because the faculty member just kind of sat there and stared at me and really didn't ask me too much. I dunno.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at the program.
