Dear Whatever,

You are a Bulgaria-educated US citizen IMG.
Therefore:
1. I understand Bulgaria as another developing country, in dire need of doctors.
2. Your education in Bulgaria might have 'eaten away' a coveted seat of a Bulgarian citizen in a medical college of their own country.
3. All US citizens who have completed their medical education in a foreign country had technically occupied a native citizen's seat in a medical school. Therefore, you deprived him/her to become a doctor in their own country.
5. And now you come back, and will assert your rights on US residencies (you know it already, you have the preference).
Bingo! You're reaping benefits from both places.
PS: And stop the 'India-bashing', will you?
If more than 30% doctors in the US are from India, it is for a reason.
Maybe they have brains? Or the education system seems to be churning people willing to work hard and sacrifice (and not waste time piling people under superflous petitions?). LOL.

If those Americans really are qualified for the job, you wouldn't need such a sad petition.

no matter how hard you wanna be special you are an IMG an IMG is an IMG and deal with it.

I am GC holder and i completely agree with the statistics that our Matching rate is only 5% higher than visa holder.

Only difference between you and them is that they started prepared and passed USMLE exams before coming here in this country. lot percent of them will convert into tax payers don't worry.

And it is your pay for your legal citizenship. so stop being mean.
It won't earn you a residency position.

deal that it is hard and competitive. and getting harder and more and more competitive.

this is life and you don't need to blame anyone.

You are part of them.

I don't mean to offend you, but i disagree with your superior attitude. Having legal papers is not a character or personal trait to choose people over someone.

Ask American graduates who have half million loans how happy they are to see you and us and them here with some small expanses compared to their's getting into same residencies. and starting to pay back they debts

You have got to be kidding me. I could honestly waste my time typing a long reply of how childish and stupid what you're trying to do really is, but I won't. Because it's just a load of toad c***!

I'm Canadian, and my country doesn't give any kind of special privileges to citizens. Even though it puts me at a serious disadvantage, I would not change the system because that is only fair. An Img is an Img. We all studied outside whatever country we are trying to practice in, so if we are truly being judged on our capacity to be a doctor, than we should be put in the same category.
Actually, you cannot even apply for residency in Canada if you're not a citizen or Canadian GC holder... I would consider that a 'special priviledge'.

Meh. If that is the case, it doesn't change my point. An img is someone who studied outside, and should be treated as such. Period.

Stop whining here. Go and do some observes, get some Lors, and pass USMLE on a better scores (for those who didn't take it yet). It's not the IMGs who are responsible for higher competitiveness, it's the strength of your application. Better go and make a petition to increase residency slots.
The PDs and programs don't care about taxes and all global problems, they just need good residents. So why should they take you GC holder or citizen, if someone from other countries is obviously better, will do a better job, better care, and won't whine that they did one more shift then other residents. Healthcare system benefits from better and more qualified people not just people with a passport or a green card.
