Default old grad and getting a graduation again?

hi,

if an old IMG grad will be graduating from med school again to have a recent graduation date, some schools accept most of previous credits and may graduate in shorter time than previous med school. This old degree and credit transfer comply with ecfmg rules.

it appears that the most recent graduation date from latest diploma may help to avoid being filtered out by computers.

The questions:

1) do we need to list graduation date or attendance dates for residency?

2) if listed the gaps can be explained- 1st time finished med school as usual then was working and then shorter attendance (with credit transfer) to get a new graduation date to avoid being filtered out

3) it appears that ecfmg does not report graduation date, how residency get notified of our graduation date, do we fill it in the application?

this path takes some efforts and time (depending on credits accepted up to 12 mo sometimes more sometimes less), is it worth doing?

Wait, hold the phone. We can do Med school again?

I graduated in 2010 and I'll apply next year with ok scores 234 step 1 and I'm expecting the same or more for CK. My biggest red flag is YOG. If I can do Med school again, 1st I'd go to a Caribbean school- but before I plan my next step, is this even possible?

4 years of med school, again?

It will depend on a particular school rules. Same school or school from the same region may have similar program and they have ability to accept some earned credits. Somewhat similar to 5th pathway.

In your case completing the remaining steps looks like the right way to go. Straightforward.
