Question Change of branch from Ophthalmology to IM: Personal statement

Hi
i have completed my 3 year residency in ophthalmology from india and this year i am going to apply for IM. i am having really hard time in writing personal statement.how do i explain and what should i explain in personal statement.

..found sum one like me....write that u always wanted to do medicine but because of the financial restrains u had to take up ophthalmology..as mle exams r expensive.....
later would u still be trying for ophthalmology?
