Certificate Clinical Evaluation Paper in addition to the LoR

Guys I have a question.
Do you need to ask for a clinical evaluation paper as well when you get a LoR? Or will the LoR suffice? Americlerkships say it is required for a complete application..

ERAS is accepting Evals! where is that? is it in the LoR section?
The ECFMG and AAMC LoR coversheet does not mention anything about evals

There's a difference between acting on your own (attaching papers to the LoR) from official upload slot in ERAS.

You said in your previous post

This statement means, that ERAS officially designated a slot for evaluation. But there's no such thing.

You need to clarify that clinical evaluation papers are just an optional individual choice and there's no official ERAS slot for them.

I don't need to contact ERAS support, because there's no such thing in ERAS!!

i never said that its an official eras requirement. I just said that eras has allowed evals from this year. and of course there is no slot for it. but if u have an eval for a clerkship/externship from the same person who wrote an lor for u, u can attach it to the lor. and for the technical details u need to contact eras. this is the info i have. hope this clears things out

Hello happy Friday everyone!! Clinical evaluations are not a requirement by ERAS, they certainly are optional.

When submitting your recommendation letters to residency programs you want to maximize their impact on your application. In order to do this you will need to submit something that is going to closely resemble your #1 competition's recommendations (US seniors and grads).

An environment in which you are clinically evaluated and graded on residency relevant topics is one that will stand out in your application much more than a recommendation alone.

I hope this helps! I hope everyone has a great weekend

So if the letter writer also completes an evaluation form and sends the LOR and the form together in an envelope to ECFMG/ERAS support services, Will the program that i use that LOR to apply for it be able to see the evaluation form attached to the LOR?
I mean does the evaluation form automaticaly goes with that LOR to programs you apply to? or should I attach the form seperately as a document?
thnx

Yes the programs that you are applying to will see all of the attached documents in your application.

Now, something important to remember is that if you are short on time the preferred method to submit your documents would be electronically. Please see this link for more details:

http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/applicants-documents-lwp.html

I would suggest double checking with your attending to ensure they have completed your evaluation and attached it with your LOR.

Good luck

Hi,

I did speak to one of the ERAS representatives and they have no fixed format as according to them, This "clinical evaluation" is not a required document by ERAS.
Would you be kind enough to give us a format of these Evaluations, Essentially in what fields and how they are graded?
Can't find it anywhere.
All inputs would be appreciated...
