Question Potential prematch; when to schedule the Interview?

I have a question , one of my friend got an invitation .. they gave him late sept or early oct for interview date .... That hospital offer prematch, as its an small community program .... Which time is best to take for interview for this program ( late sept or early oct ) ...... And when does usually programs offer prematch ....

It depends on whether your friend is looking for the prematch or not. To read in details about whether to accept prematches or not read here http://www.usmle-forums.com/residenc...-prematch.html

If prematch is desired, then the sooner you schedule the better (so that they don't fill up the positions)

If prematch is no desired, then the later you schedule the better (so that you go for other preferred interviews before deciding on it).

Prematch offer is usually given soon. For example on the spot during the interview or few days afterward.

Actually my friend and me both got interview there ... he took it oct 4 for his own reason .... I got iv from same place today at 3.30pm .... I call them for date .... they first offered me iv date first week oct ... but i took it in late oct , as i didnt expect iv that early and got nervous ... she told she will send me confirmation on monday morning as today office hour is finished but she send it today .... Now I am thinking to call them in first hour on monday to rescheduled my date in early oct if possible ..... What is your opinion step taker, should i try to reschedule it ....

Do you want their prematch or not?

If you want it, reschedule earlier.

If you don't want it, leave it to late October.
