Correct Answer H4 to J1 conversion for residency

Hi friends,

I need some help regarding the visa conversion process - H4 to J1 clinical.

1. Can we get the conversion done here in the US itself or it is better to do go to our home country to get this done?

2. If I am planning to go to my home country after I get the J1 through ECFMG after the match this year, should I get a stamping again to come back to the US?

If any seniors in the forum, has already converted from H4 to J1 during the previous season, please guide me regarding this.

its faster to convert any kind of visa in your home country for example F1 to J1 back home might take 2-3 days compare to a month to 3 months.

Btw Im not aware of H4 what is it for?
