Help SOAP for IMGs

HI there, I am an IMG and I did not get a single interview this year. I am hoping for the SOAP. I am not sure how favorable it is to the IMGs. Any thoughts?

hey I am in the same boat. Didn't get a single interview . I was read previous posts that said its more AMG friendly then IMG...but I do know an IMG that matched through SOAP. So I am sure it's not impossible.

Default Hi

Do we have any change to match in a program without an interview in that program?

Unfortunately no. Without an IV you'll not be on program's ROL.

As for SOAP.. I was wondering too. The answer I got was: dismal for IMG. But there's no harm in trying. I know I'd try if I didn't match.

I would apply but per my calculation based on last year NRMP data chances of IMG matching through SOAP is 0.01%. So no much hope in SOAP. But it's free so the most we are wasting is our time...

In previous years the SOAP process has favored US graduates.

If you do not match during SOAP it is also still possible to find a program post-match. There are also programs that will not participate in SOAP so you can apply to them once SOAP ends.

Residents Medical helps students through the SOAP process as well as post-match. If you are interested please message me and I can provide you with more information.

It's not 0.01%, but 1%. It's 80 out of 5688 (1.4%) for non-US citizen IMG's and 94 out of 3724 (2.5%) for US citizen IMGs.

LOL, okay didn't multiply by 100%, it does not matter. Chances are still at the bottom. To me 0.01 and 1% are the same in getting residency.

Guys, don't get discouraged! Have faith and keep trying! I believe that if you start with an idea that its too hard, you are not going to get the result you want.

Nobody told you that you can't match in scramble! I had a friend match through scramble to a great uni program.
