Certificate How old the LoR can be?

Hi senior members and those who have applied this year,

please if any one can guide regarding this , how much old dated an LoR can be used?
Suppose I get an LoR this September,2011(dated) , after my rotation...and by proffesor is will be able to send the new online version of LoR/ or i loss contact with him.. can i use that paper based LoR dated september , 2011 for the next year application in ERAS september 2012???...

is good some programs have no problem at all. some want 2 years old , some want 3. but these are less then 5%. You can keep your LOR on your file for ever

thank you..but I heard somewhere that more that 12 month old LoR should not be uploaded...how fur is this true?

there is no such rule..but the more recent the lor is, the better for u

I asked a PD this, some programs like require 2 year old, some dont care but needs to be from USCE or CAD if not they care , but some programs require 2 years nothing else
