Default old grad?

Hello all! I am a 30 year old 2014 IMG( completed step 1)...Now I would like to know what this old grad obtaining residency obstacle is mainly about...is it age, or how many years have passed since graduation, or the combination of both? Most fresh medical graduates in my country will be 25 year old...My problem is that i first obtained a law degree and than switched to medicine...

Thank you for all your input!

Your age is irrelevant to any residency program, they focus on year of graduation.

and btw 30 is not old.
