Unhappy 200-82 Score in CK, Do I have a future?

Hi Everyone,

Just received my CK results 2 days back...I was shocked to see my result, 200/82.
Exam was tough, but not to this extent. I prepared for 4 months, got 240 on UWSA 1 week before and 235 on NBME 3 days before. I got 217/92 on step 1. Going to take my CS in April. Initially was prepping for IM, but now I think even FM is out of scope.
I am wondering what should I do now. With so many double 99ers I don't think I have any chances whatsoever.

Any response is appreciated.

FM is less competitive...you do have a good chance for FM..as per last years Match ...but for IM I think you have improve your CV for Match... Ck is going to hurt....

Step 1 is a strongest determenant of the invites outcome. You can improve your chances by doing observerships and getting US LORs. If you you don't need visa your task in IM will be much easier, but anyway I advice you to apply to both widely.

You can't change anything now - apply far and wide! You are done and that is the main thing!!!

If you graduate and finish step 2 cs in april - see if you can take step 3 afterwards - not sure on your graduation date (if you are in school or finished)

Or you can try and push step 2 cs earlier and study step 3 in parallel... register for taking step 3 after receiving ecfmg certificate (need MD, Step 1-2ck-cs). It takes ~1 month to get the whole process complete and that is the final test if you feel that is needed to perhaps boost your chances.

Otherwise, apply far and wide!
