Smile Asking for a Sincere advice !!

Hello everybody,
It's been a long time since I last posted in this forum which was very helpful to me in preparing for all my previous steps & I hope that I had been helpful to some people here as they were helpful to me.

My situation is as follows,
* IMG\US citizen\YOG 2011\ 228\212\Pass all on first attempt.
*1 month on Hands-on training in IM in a teaching hospital back in 2013 with 1 US-LOR just before applying back then.

I applied in September,2013 with the abovementioned credentials,got 4 IVs but I didn't match.

after seeking advice here back then I decided to do research & I managed to get into a Cardiology clinical research in one of Harvard's hospitals back in May,2014 & I've been doing research since then.

Up until now in my research ,I managed to get my name on 3 major papers that are gonna be published soon , & 1 poster presentation in the ACC last week.
I anticipate before the next match to have my name on more papers but I'm not sure if we're gonna submit them soon enough,so probably what I have now is what I'm gonna use in MyEras next season.

Aside from research,my PIs allowed me to shadow them & actually see patients on my own,but due to the work load ,I could only do that once a week & for about 3-4 hours ,seeing total of 10 patients or so & the next step is assisting in writing patient notes. (I guess I was very lucky working for those people, all praise belongs to Allah & no one else)

I'm planning of taking step 3 ASAP & try to make up for my low CK score in preparation for next year's match & I'm planning on applying to 200 programs ,IM only.

My questions is,how bad does it look for me,realistically ?!!
what should I do more??
Is continuing doing what I'm doing the way to go or should I look for hands-on only training??

All your input, either positive or negative is very appreciated as I'm really afraid that I don't match next year & it's haunting me day & night.

best of luck to all & congratulations to all who matched

Your scores aren't bad given that you are a U.S. citizen. I would say take Step 3 asap (try to score 210+), do an observership somewhere plus continue doing research.

You have good chances of matching since you don't have any red flags maybe except for the 5 year cut-off but you can bypass that by applying to a lot of programs.

All it takes is one. Just work on your interview skills. As a Citizen, you shouldn't have any problems matching.

thanks for the advice Warfarin90,good to hear from you again, I'm already doing dome kind of USCE t,hough, (or what I think counts for USCE) once a week with 2 attending physicians as I mentioned above.
Are you suggesting that I devote some time for observership?

Once a week is fine. Make some contacts and/or try to find alumni who can help you get IV calls. You'll be alright

Thank you, I'm actually not worried about the LoR at all as I'm sure they will write that I had hands-on training.I can end up with 3 LoRs from Harvard.
my main concern is if what I'm doing is enough or should I do more & what?
thanks again
