Question cs failure should i mention my reason in the PS?

Hey guys am preparing for the next match, i have failed in my first attempt of cs because I lost my first child the time i was taking the exam and was not emotionally or mentally well prepaired

should I mention that in my personal statement? or people will think it is a way to drag attention and empathy?

First of, I'm really sorry for your loss. Secondly, I don't think it is wise to mention it, because guess what, everyone has a story and you could have simply rescheduled the test date if you weren't ready. Most of the time attempts on any of the steps automatically filters out an application to a program that doesn't accept repeat attempts, without anyone in that program even reading that application. But, this doesn't mean in anyway that you shouldn't explain your circumstances during the interview. An attempt on any of the exams doesn't mean that you wont Match as there are many factors that can make your application look more competitive and strengthen your weak points.
