Default H1B Visa Holders/aspirants, Can you walk me through the process?

My status: My program asked me my preference. I replied H1B. Yet to hear back from them, expecting reply this week.

Could someone please give me a brief? so as to get an idea on how long this whole process takes & about the expense.

Thank you

Same boat as you my friend, I'm currently applying for my state license because it is needed to start H1b visa paperwork.

Hope everything works well for you!

Default few queries

Thank you for the response. I have few queries

Do you have to pay the prem processing fee (1250) yourself? Or is it the hospital?

Are you applying for the state medical license through your hospital?

Any idea on when the processes, drug screen, vaccinations, criminal background and health clearance would be done?

For SSN, do we have to apply now? or when we go to US? (assuming you are not in US now)

Sorry thats a lot of qstns

Wow... I have no idea!
I am following recommendations from my program regarding licensing process, but that's pretty much it. I haven't stated any of ther stuff you are talking about
I think I'm going to have to pay the prem proc, but that's totally up to the program.
No idea about SSN but I was asking myself the same question. However, I'm sure you'll need to have the legal status, so I suppose that is after we enter the US with H1b or J.
Sorry I can't help.

Default Same here

I think at this point we have to complete the paper work from Hosp, thats pretty much it

am applying for state medical license through my hosp as well

Regarding drug screen, vaccinations, criminal background and health clearance:
I haven't started any of these as well. I assume these things are after we land in US (or) after an announcement from Hospital. Same goes for SSN.

Yes, am paying for the prem proc fee for H1B visa

If you don't mind, I will touch base with you in the future for any queries/updates. So we are in the same page

below are replies to your Qs

Do you have to pay the prem processing fee (1250) yourself? Or is it the hospital?
I had to pay for it ( not optional for my program )

Are you applying for the state medical license through your hospital?
I started to fill the form and 1 paper should be filled by the program and another one filled by the medical school

Any idea on when the processes, drug screen, vaccinations, criminal background and health clearance would be done?
i have NOOOO idea lol

For SSN, do we have to apply now? or when we go to US? (assuming you are not in US now)
not yet, you have to get the visa status first, I assume

Default Hi

For those states, that need state medical license as a requirement for H1B visa, the visa process may take longer. Luckily for me (state of Maryland) itís not required. USMLE results and Unlicensed Medical Practitioner (UMP) Application will be submitted to USCIS as part of the supporting documentation - Info from my attorney.

My status: done with the paper work & have submitted the req documents. Working on sending the check for prem proc fee

Hey. Just a quick question. I wanted to apply for H1 visa in the upcoming match. Is it necessary to have given step 3 and passed it before applying for the match? Or can i give it during the interview season and have the result before match day?
