Default Helpful opinion to a matched MD

Hey, I'm a matched MD for 2015 residency and I'm currently studying for STEP 3 to take it in June. My question is should I participate in current research/programs or just concentrate on step 3?
Will the step 3 score or more research/program help in fellowship application? thanks!

research will help during the residency and in that subspecialty you are interested. focus on step3 you cant do much now before starting.

most fellowships dont really much care about step3 results but y try your best

Hello Tamta, can you please explain how research helps during residency, if he had already matched? I thought it was only good to improve chances for matching.

Thank you!

She means just that, to match in residency and fellowship, either one.

yeah most sucssefully matched fellows have done some kind of research.
if you think anything ends with matching no everything just starts.
i focus on ECGs and XRAYS and some weak areas that will be pain in clinical practice. and they say pocket medicine will be what we will be using all the time so you read that book.
