Congrats to all who received interviews. I am getting anxious. My credentials are 227/228/Pass(All 1st attempts)/YOG 2012/2 mo observerships in university hospitals/3 US & 1 home country LOR/2 publications/1 int'l presentation/Home country internship, no gaps/Need Visa/Applied to 150 IM programs.

How many interviews should I expect? Right now, I only see 250+ being called. Is there any chance for applicants with scores in 220+ in this match?

I'd say be patient. Your scores are not the only determining factor. 220s are decent. My stats are 224/254/pass 1st attempt and I just got an interview invitation from UTSW with so contacts. I can only conclude that there are other things that attracted them to my application besides the step scores. So don't be discouraged.

I'm 26x/26x fresh grad and I need a visa and I haven't heard from anyone yet. I'm assuming that a lot of these early invites are from programs that recognize the school from which the applicant is coming from or they don't need a visa. I wouldn't say its all contingent on scores.

We will most likely start seeing the waves of invites in October. Until then don't despair over not getting any IVs before then.

Congratulations to all who received interviews and GoodLuck to all the members who are participating in this year's Match. You guys are really doing well in keeping this thread alive and giving opportunity for other members to learn from your experience.

I believe a lot of members in this thread have received step 2 ck scores recently, please include your stats of UW %, NBMEs and UWSA in this thread so that other members of the forum can benefit from it.

NBME, UWSA, Qbanks Averages, Correlation with Real Step 2 CK Exam Score

Thanks !

Default Interview tracker?

Hi everyone - just wanted to provide a little piece of insight on the # of interviews and we are in the cycle.

1. Don't panic.
2. Some programs don't open up their ERAS until the MSPE (Dean's Letter) gets uploaded Oct 1st.
3. Program directors can apply their USLME filters at any time. Not receiving an interview may just be because the program director hasn't gotten around to it yet
4. Often times, programs split up the large number of applicants they see with several faculty members. Some faculty members may finish reviewing the applications before others.
5. Yes, there can be tiers of interview offers. Some programs will send out their invites to the top candidates first and see which ones fill up their interview slots. There will be additional waves. I wouldn't start emailing programs just yet.

It's a stressful time. But, it's a marathon. We are just getting started.

Congrats to all with interviews so far.
I am IMG 224/241/to do CS next week. YOG:2003. Permanent resident.
I applied to 140 programs and received only 4 acknowledgements so far. No interviews. How do you know that the acknowledgement is a good sign and not just a general email sent to all applicants.

There is probably no way to know. Its most likely a general mail sent to all applicants especially if it is a " do not reply" mail.

Default Don't panic guys!!!

It is not the time to panic as of now. Most progs will start sending invites in October and they keep doing so until December. There is a lot of time. No need to panic. Stay positive and good things will happen.

There is one little thing called google, you know? Very easy to find stuff over there. You should try it: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...boston%20train

There is no need to be rude. There are other people who will be going to the interview. Just wanted to get their input on how they will be travelling there.

Sorry if you found that I was being rude. But if this thread turns into an source of travel information for every single trip to every interview someone is taking it's just gonna get flooded with a lot of drivel. I know it is exciting to travel around to places and discuss it, but let's keep things focused shall we?

It was more a matter of convienience then excitement about travelling. But alright. I can see it bugs people like you so lets leave that topic.

Mount Sinai/Baltimore sent mass rejections today. I was on of the lucky applicants who got this rejection as well.

First interview from Sinai Hospital of Baltimore y'day!
230/234/2013/need visa
I know those are probably not the most impressive stats compared to some others i've seen around here, but i'm extremely relieved and happy!
Good Luck guys!

You don't know all the stats. They might cut off people based on USCE.

They rejected people with excellent scores, big USCE, 2015 gradautes, GC holders. I hear it's not a good program anyways, may be this is why they're rejecting good applicants because they know such applicants will have much better interviews and therefore, they will never rank them highly. I don't know. It could be a total bullshit thought.

I think it makes you sound like an ass for downplaying the program and the people who got interviews there by saying its a crappy program and they know competitive candidates wouldn't go there anyway.

Take it easy big boy. I didn't downgrade the program, I'm simply stating something I heard which can be absolutely wrong as I stated in the end of my comment. I myself would have been super happy if I got an interview there and if you read carefully you'll find that I said my whole theory could be wrong. There is no reason to be rude or offensive. I can cuss at you as well but that is who you are.

Hey guys,
So as it turns out, I will get my Step 2 cs result on Dec 9. And I have gotten 1 interview so far. But I cant decide. Should I set my interviews after I get my step 2 cs result?

If I set a few before I get my step 2 cs result will that deflect my chances of the program ranking me highly? or can I send them an email or contact them later and inform them that I passed?

Hi
I think maybe I am in your shoe regarding CS. I am to take exam next Tuesday and I think results come out starting Dec. 9. This is not an answer to your question, but what were your stats and where did you get interview. I am getting nervous because I think the late CS result is going to hurt me. I got 224/241 both first attempt. GC holder, no USCE, 2 US LORs (1 assoc prof) and 1 Univ Prof LOR from home country but I am a very old IMG 2003. No breaks in clinical practice though, I own my own practice back home (not that any of this May matter with programs). Any advice anyone....

Wouldn't it be a good idea to add the invites we got to the credentials list like last year??

I have a question. If a program director of a program sends you a message on ERAS, asking a question; how do you respond? Do you reply via ERAS or do you reply via your email to his email address?

What you do is insert your cursor at the end of the last applicants stats
and if on a mac click Command + Enter, I think on Windows it might be Control or Shift + Enter and that will go to the next line within a cell

I wonder if my 2nd attempt at the CS will completely screw me over. What's worse is that I actually did fine in all of the other Steps and got great LOR, like 5 of them.

I know its still too early to tell but FML.

Plenty of people match with a second attempt. Your scores are good. How many interviews did you receive last time if you don't mind sharing??

Programs that are "malignant" make their residents work hard with few to no educational activities. Some attendings may shout at residents. To make it worse, there would be little to no opportunity for fellowship.

It is a combination of things.

Just wondering about the programs I have mentioned. I am not sure but I have seen people talk about these programs on other forums.
