No they don't. I asked a resident attending there.

yupp they dont. The residents (without green cards )have to go back to their home countries after they have completed residency.

Has anyone have an update with SUNY Downstate with them giving an interview but with no slots in the online scheduler? Are we on the wait list?

I just finished my interview for SHB. I don't know if they are doing phone pre-interview (or I may just be mistaken)

Hi Staniel,

Yeah, we are on wait list. I learned this from a resident in SUNY Downstate, he kindly asked the secretary about this. I believe they will send you a message through ERAS when there is an additional spot for you. I stop checking the scheduling website.

BTW, congrats on your interview at Sinai. How many interviews did you get so far? I only got 2, but it seems like I am lucky one (YOG-2003).

Good luck to everyone, I hope everone here gets a position this year!

Thank you for the update. I've been very confused with them giving out an interview (not waitlist) with no available dates. As for me, I'm at 8 interviews (counting SUNY... so I guess 7) and will be graduating in 2016 a few months before the anticipated July start date.

I had some troubles with PS, but solved it for myself. But my friends usually use such kind of services. I'll send you some links, when I'll ask them =)

I would put Maimonides higher. I really enjoyed my experience at Maimonides. Definitely over Toledo. My rank list is 10 programs with Maimo at #2.

At the end of the day, it's all about your gut feeling and where you think you fit the best.

oh yeah, I should have specified. It was by reputation =) But definitely take into account personal factors like "fit", the area, if you have family anywhere, the food!, pay, and all that =)

Default What are my chances?

Hi all, I'm applying for the 2017 match into Pediatrics.

I have an attempt in Step 1 and 205 on retake. CS result pending (I took on July 15th so I'll get it during the Aug 14 to Sep 14 score reporting period) and currently studying for CK, will take time and might apply a couple weeks late because I'm focusing on getting a good score and applying when ECFMG certified.

Things I have on my CV:

ACLS/BLS/PALS/P-FCCS certified, and a neonatal resuscitation instructor in India (where I did med school).
Multiple conference presentations as well at international conferences like PAS and AAPI.
2 publications in Pubmed indexed journals.
US Citizen (Not sure how much being a citizen really helps though).
One month elective/subinternship in Ped Neurology. No other USCE.

Can my CV and a good CK score make up for the step 1 attempt? I'm all into pediatrics only.

Thanks in advance!!
