Default Apply just to H1b sponsoring programs?

Hello everyone. Just want to know how that can affect chances to match? Or better idea will be to apply as J1\H1b and then ask about H1b directly on interview? Thanks in advance.

It's okay to pass step 3 as late as nov-dec (IMO), because that score is needed just to assess you for H1b elegibility, which as I understand, PDs really needed not earlier than mar-apr. But I'm interested whether denying of J-1 as an option in your application could affect the number of intrviews (even with good scores).

H1b programs are mostly community based. J1 mostly university. So if ur priority is h1b but not j1 then with good score u are covered to apply to only h1b programs which are sizeable enough of programs. What are the high scores u are talking about if u don't mind?

My scores are step 1 245 and step 2 259. Is that competitive enough for H1b? Will be taking step 3 in Oct. Whats a good score i should be aimig for in that?

Yep, I'm talking about nearly the same scores as above... not super high, but above average

Just afraid to kill my chance of getting slot in normal (where I'll learn something) program.
