UCLA has its own IMG Program. There are very competitive applicants there, scores way above average, hands-on experience, spanish-speaking, etc.

Well I speak Spanish and my scores are pretty decent for Family Medicine. So who knows what they wanted.

Already every person received interviews. There are a lot of Detractors and people that don't forgive very easily, but I think everyone has their flaws but also a lot of things that makes them special as well, just play to your strengths and work on the weaknesses and hold your heart up. I think with time and experience every person gain confidence and with that it's a lot easier to succeed.

There are very competitive applicants there.

Best of luck everybody.

These forums are suppose to be meant for everyone to see and not this special whatspp group. Its suppose to benefit everyone and future family medicine residency applicants. I am 100% sure that this years applicants looked at last years FM forms. I have gotten 2 ivs.

I logged in just to say that I totally agree. Not everyone wants to give out their phone number or be bothered by being in a huge whastapp group and have the phone go off constantly. It would've been much better if this thread was as active as the IM thread. Instead, the only posts I see here "add me to the group...#12321453241"

I agree. Last year's thread was so useful. I don't know why the move to whatapp, defeats the purpose of this forum. Please start posting on this thread.

Update from me:
9 rejections so far.
Supplemental app for U of Minnesota
No interviews yet.

Like few others mentioned here earlier, lets keep the conversations public in this thread rather than private WhatsApp groups - more people benefit from public information

Default happy with 7 FM IVs so far

IMG: 21_/22_/CS(1), US citizen, YOG 2016

First timer

Hey there,
just wanted to post this up, to give everyone some hope and inspiration during this difficult times. Myself, I have sub-par step grades, still managed to get 13 IVs (7 Peds, 6 FM), 2 IVs from rotating at their institutions. Just 1 IV so far in November, majority in late Sept to Oct.

applied back on 9/22, applied 9_ FM, 10_ Peds

good luck to everyone

Im mostly in the IM forum but i did apply to 13 family due the long held belief that it should be a back up. I have 8 interviews in IM but not a single family interview. Im not upset, i believe it could be a number of reasons. With 242/233/pass/2016 grad they may figure that they are a back up program in my case. I Didnt particularly stand out nor have I contacted any programs. I Think family med may want tou to be more personal with the process and reach out.

Your YOG is over 5 years old and that is the problem you will need to build strong contacts to match, most programs will not IV anyone who graduated more than 5 years ago and some more than 3 years

First timer

Hey there,
just wanted to post this up, to give everyone some hope and inspiration during this difficult times.

Default Meharry Medical College

Hi folks,
I have got my only FM interview at Meharry Medical College, the rest were in IM.
Does anyone know about the program? How's the interview? There doesn't seem to be any information in forums about the program.

Since I don't have any experience interviewing for family medicine programs, I would appreciate any advice in that regards? I have got LORs that are IM specific from a hospital and none from OB or PEDs.

Nervous as the IV season is coming to an end and I want to make sure that I do my best for the FM interview.

Wish you best of luck this match season!

I agree just apply broadly my failure hinders me so that's how I am playing it. Many progs won't even second look at my app given the failure (bad day). Still good luck on upcoming apps
