Default 2016 Match

I am an IMG. I finished my step 1(224), Step 2 cs(pass) and step 2 ck(result due in 3weeks). I have 3 months USCE. I am planning to give step 3 in August. I need advice on planning the next 2 months before applications. Thanks!

Guess the things you can have an impact on are: study hard for your Step 3, write a really good personal statement, and practice for interviews (with another person, watching videos, reading about it, etc).

Hi,

I have one question, is it indispensable for IMG's to have Step 3 done before applying?

Not at all. That being said, once you match take it before starting residency, it's a real pain to deal with it during your intern year.

That's good to know. Do you know if taking it before has any advantages? Is just because I'm a little bit worry, since I graduated in 2011 and I only have experience in research for 1 and 1/2 years.

Thanks

No benefit with your residency itself, it's actually easier to pass the test after like 6 months of intern year. But it is really not necessary, most of my friends who are IMGs in my program took it a passed it before residency.
