Default Advice needed please!

I need an honest advice for my situation please.
I am an IMG who wants to get into Internal Medicine residency in the USA. My problem is I passed CS in a second attempt, and I got 210 in step2-CK also in a second attempt!! my step 1 score was 220.
To note, I am a green-card holder.
What do you think my chances of matching are? Should I apply for Masters/Phd or other alternatives?
Do you think doing something like Phd is needed in my case and would enhance my CV?

Thanks a lot!

Internal Medicine is not the most competitive specialty you could apply for. There are lots of positions and it is a very IMG friendly specialty overall. Lower USMLE scores with attempts can be a hindrance. You will have to look at specific program requirements to make sure you can fulfill them so you aren't wasting any extra time or money.

You can also make sure to strengthen your supporting documents such as your Letters of Recommendation, Personal Statement, MyERAS application and so on. Programs are looking for well rounded people, so use the documents to paint a great picture for the programs. You never know which program will take notice.

Getting a Ph.D. would be helpful, but that depends on if you are willing to wait till later to start your residency.

try applying for FM as well (as a backup plan) especially that there are a lot of FM programs and they are not very competitive..Also trying getting a USCE and some research work.. Good luck
