Default ECFMG certification time, Lors after application submission

Hey all! I have a few questions, I really appreciate any help regarding these..

First about the Certification process -once you get your last step score, how long does it take for you to be ECFMG certified and do you need to wait for the certificate to reach you to apply or can you say so once your status online has changed?

2. Can you update your CV or add more LORs once you submit your application on Sept 15?

According to ECFMG, the time to get you your certification varies. After you complete your credentials it will take time for ECFMG to verify everything. According to others I have heard from, it can take an average of 8 weeks to get the certificate. You can always call ECFMG to verify.

If you are applying through MyERAS you do not upload a CV, the MyERAS application is your CV. You can add more LoRs at any time and assign them to programs you have not already applied to.

Thanx for your response.
So are you able to update things on the eras CV after Sept 15? If more observership or research is done after, can that be updated onto the cv?
Can the new LORs be send to the already applied programs by any chance?

Thanks

You may only add things to the MyERAS Application if you have not certified it yet (the last step on the application). Once you certify, the content in your application will be set in stone other than your Contact information. However, if you do not certify, the programs will not be able to see your application.

No, once you have submitted your application to a program, LoRs cannot be updated.
