Ok, I will break it down for you.

Pros: 5 years research experience, Ph.D., recent US clinical experience/LoRs, Green Card and average test scores

Cons: Year of graduation, CS attempts and drop in scores from Step 1 to Step 2 CK

Overall, as an older candidate (more than five years since graduation) you will face more challenges than a recent graduate. You will have to be prepared to address your gap by explaining what you have been doing to better yourself as a doctor. Focus on the positives rather than dwelling in the negatives.

With hard work you can make up for the gap and attempts by strengthening your overall application. Your LoRs from recent US clinical experience will help, but you will also need well crafted, specialty specific Personal Statements and a complete, error free MyERAS Application. Be prepared to apply to 100 or more programs for each specialty, more if you can.

You have some obstacles, but it's most certainly not a lost cause.
