Default Urgent advice

I have no intentions of pursuing urology but are urology electives/lor in any way helpful for gs later or not?

Yes should not miss elective even if you don't like urology because LOR is very important especially when it comes from a elective.

The more electives you can accomplish, the better your overall application will look.

However, make sure you are letting your letter writers know your intention to go into General Surgery. It would be best to sit down with them and get their feedback, then let them know your expectations for the letter. You don't want to submit a letter to a GS program that is praising your Urology skills!

Thankyou so much for the reply .. I was confused because this was an opportunitt at harvard so obviously the experience will be amazing but theres no point of doing it if itll not help me later on . I think having a proper talk with the author of the lor is a good idea .
