The Medical Board of California requires the PTAL for all California programs.

For more information about the PTAL through ECFMG, please visit:
http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/applicants-documents-pta.html

For the PTAL form itself:
http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Forms/Applican...ation_ptal.pdf

Please be aware the document may take a few months to process, so be sure to start right now if you are interested in California. It may be good to look for programs that do not require the PTAL at the time of application.
