Star advice needed

Hi fellows,
I am a US-IMG, step 1 -230, 2CK-239, 2cs-in October, YOG 2006, no USCE- going to apply to FM.
Any information about how they treat old IMGs?
Should I try to apply this year if I will not have my CS results at the time of IVs?
I have 8 years of experience as a diagnostic radiologist. Will it help me somehow or making everything worse?
Thank you

Here's what I gathered from the information you provided:

Pros- Above average USMLE scores, 8 years experience and going for Family Medicine
Cons- time since graduation, no CS yet and no USCE

I will be honest, the lack of USCE and years since graduation will be a hindrance to you. However, with a strong application and picking the right programs to apply to, you could have a shot. If you can get a hold of any USCE, please try to do so. USCE will not only get you fresh Letters of Recommendation but also get your foot in the door with programs who require USCE. If you canít, make sure your LoRs are recent and specialty specific. You Personal Statement should be well crafted and also specialty, and your MyERAS Application should be complete and error free.

Since your CS is scheduled, you can go ahead and apply to programs that do not require the ECFMG Certification at the time of application.

Fortunately, Family Medicine is one of the easiest specialties to break into. However, since your past experience is in diagnostic radiology, be prepared to address why youíre interested in FM.

As an older candidate (more than 5 years since graduation) you will also need to honestly but positively explain what you have been doing to improve yourself as a doctor. Get the message across that you are knowledgeable enough to contribute but happy to learn and grow (lifelong learner).

If youíre willing to work hard, you can strengthen your application enough to get Matched.
