Smile Is Dermatology residency possible!!

Hi there....I m an Indian medical graduate...currently working as a govt. Medical officer . I am planning to prepare for USMLE step 1.... I am interested in pursuing dermatology residency....what are my chances?? What should I do to increase my chances?? Aren't there any Indian medical graduates doing dermatology residency??

Dermatology isn't "impossible" but it isn't a wise choice for an IMG. The unfortunate truth is that out of the 22 positions available in last year's Match, 0 of them were filled by IMGs. So, while I'm sure IMGs may have gotten Dermatology position in the past, you would be better off picking another specialty.

In that case if it is as u said.....then still if an IMG wants to pursue it......what can he/she do to 'stand out' in their eyes to be chosen for d residency despite being an IMG?
