Default Applying for Match

I have a problem, I took my step 2ck late and barley got my score and did not pass. I will not be able to take it till after march, due to funding and available dates in my location. I know this is a long shot a getting a residency, but should I still try to get a residency this year. I don't want to wait for another year. What would be my options at this time?

IMGs need to be ECFMG-certified to start residency. So, you only have a chance for the next match,ie., to apply on September 1, 2012.
After re-taking CK, you will have time to find USCE and make contacts to make it up for the attempt.
Good luck!

You need to cover your attempt and make your profile stronger by doing few observerships and getting US LORs. Prepare well for your step, practice MCQs as much as you can.

I did all my clinical rotations in the US and all my LoR are all from US. Would it be possible to do a transitional year?

I did all my rotations in the US and all my LOR are from US docs. Thanks. What would I need to do on my year off to make my profile stronger?

You can do more observerships in acgme certified programs in different states to make your cv outstanding. You may join research if you find an available spot.

Goodluck
