Listening Failed CS, Can I match?

Hi my friends

I'm an IMG with 5 years from graduation
I got 228 in step 1 and 256 in step 2 but actually I failed the cs exam last year and I was astonished from that result but i decided to continue studying until I got good score in CK and i did cs exam again few days ago and i'm waiting for the result and i hope i will get pass

SO i wanna ask you my friends how does this attempt affect my chances in the next match and what are your advices for me to improve my CV, will step 3 help me?? I wanna apply for internal medicine residency.

I'm waiting for your suggestions and advices and thank you my friends

Hi
Although attempts may hurt your application to competitive specialties and University programs but you should be fine applying to IMG friendly programs. Step 3 in general doesn't help. My advice to you is do as much observerships you can to make your CV looks strong.

Many people fail the CS and match. I am just one of them. I agree to get as much observerships as you can. Get good LOR, maybe CME credit. Do something to show that you are interested in IM, like having all your observerships in IM.. Every component of the application helps. The personal statement, APPLYING EARLY (First day of match)..

Good luck..

I'm trying to improve my resume and get at least 3 letters of recommendations in IM. do you think taking step 3 will be an advantageous point?

what do u mean by CME credit? do u mean the CME in medscape website concerning internal medicine??

thank you dr.seddik and good luck in ur endeavor
