hello,

I want your advice,
I have got accepted for an observer ship for 4 weeks at Cleveland Clinics Critical care/ICU
but I am confused which is better for my CV an observer ship there or doing an elective for 4 weeks in less important hospitals.

observership vs elective exchange program

thank you in advance

I'm afraid I don't completely understand what you're saying. Theoretically, an elective is a rotation done in the US while in med school elsewhere. If that's your case, then defitinitely do an elective. You'll be evaluated fairly in the end, just like any other US student.
If you're out of med school, you cannot call it an elective, but an externship/observership. Anything that's hands-on is a plus. But you said "...in less important hospitals". Are you planning to do it in more than 1 hospital for 4 weeks? Your supervisors will not have enough time to evaluate you properly if you keep switching hospitals...

I have got the acceptance from Cleveland Clinic but I am still confused if i will go

My question is:

Is it doing an elective at Baltimore Washington Medical Center better than doing an observer ship at Cleveland Clinics (knowing that cleveland do not give LOR) for my CV and Resedincy later on?

I am an IMG

Thank you in advance

The answer then is right in your sentences. The elective.
