Default help needed!!

hi I am an IMG graduated in 2014..
i passed my CS in 1st attempt
step1 passed with a score of 239
and step2ck passed with 250 but 2nd attempt
i have published research in american journal and electives also.
what are my chances of getting residency in IM/FM?
and what else can i do to improve my chances


i really need your reply..thanks..

Hi! First of all, it would be better to rename your thread. Help needed suggests a more urgent problem that needs quick fixing. You don't need alarming titles to receive advice. "What are my chances?" suffices.
Your scores are pretty good overall, it depends on what programs you're applying for. YOG is good. But Step2CK in 2nd attempt? Did you fail the first time?
IM is more competitive than FM. But granted you have USCE you have quite a good chance.

and one more question what do u think is more important for me research or USCE in these next months till match..

Your failing the Step 2 exam will be a minus in your application.

I'd say USCE - contact with the US health system + a couple of LORs eventually. USCE does not necessarily exclude research. Some doctors may accept to include you in a project if you're enthusiastic and capable.

I bet USCE would be more important, it'll give you connections and its more to talk about during interviews. Research might not turn into something publishable in a year, so its more of a chance.

Yes: observerships, electives, they all count as USCE.
