Certificate AAMC Number and Waiving the Rights

hey guys
is it better to waive ur rights to see the letter?
also do u need an AAMC number for the coversheet and dsf paper??? it says that aamc number is required for the dsf sheet..don't have one
can u just give them the coversheet only?? confused

Traditionally speaking they say it is better to waive your rights to sse it but according to my experience many IMGs were shocked at the time of interview by negative things the writer mentioned in it especially about their english language, coming late to rounds, ?medical knowledge....
In my experience I didn't find any difference in matching chances between those getting waived and those getting open LORs.

The AAMC ID should be on both the aamc and dsf forms, however if you are getting it directly to your hand without the headache of waiving then you don't need the aamc id on either, just the USMLE ID can be sufficient if any, although not necessary too.

thanks steptaker and applicantguide for replying. I need to ask u, is it possible to try and get 2 lors out of a 1 month rotation by working with 2 different attendings for 2 weeks or not? Thanks.........

Hi, yes, you can do rounds in the morning with an attending then go and attend some procedures in the GI or cardiac lab as a volunteer and get another LOR. You may also do long days observerships in the ED after the morning rounds.
