Certificate LOR from ex-faculty

Hey guys..
Could anyone tell me if its okay to get an LOR from an ex-faculty under whom you have worked for a quite a while and who knows you well personally??
He quit his position as a professor to pursue his fellowship a year ago..
plz help

Yes. You can do that.

But the more recent the LoR the more impact it has on the decision of program directors, so if you can get some USCE and recent US LoRs would be better.
