Default Is it OK to ask this question?

Hi All,

at this stressful time we're all probably want some relief knowing that we're high on someone's ROL out there.

is it ok to ask the coordinator of the PD of a certain program where they ranked you? or is it considered an irregular behavior?
& what are the odds that they'd actually tell you?

best

I don't think its a good idea for you to be so direct.

What's the rationale behind that statement?

That is a direct violation of NRMP rules and you can be in trouble. You can always tell them where you are placing them in the rank order list but can never ask the program where you will be on THEIR list

so, basically there's no way to know if you're ranked to match at your preferred program until the match day.

A program can tell you where they are ranking you. And you can tell a program where you are ranking them.

But neither of you can ask the other.

I've e-mailed a couple of programs and told them I was ranking them highly, and they responded and said they were ranking me highly as well.
